Ask someone to order the ticket for you or ask it as an x-mas present! That's what I'm doing, and even if you're getting your x-mas gift/money after x-mas, the tickets are still on sale! The sale is not done until the 31 of December. My friend is planning to buy the ticket for herself even though she doesn't know what anime is. My friend and I are planning to do a KAITOxLen cosplay, I'm going to be Kaito since I'm taller and more of the seme type while my friend is Len, she's more uke ; u ; We're gonna be so socially awkward when we get there ; u ;

I think me/my family might be getting up to four tickets for some of my cousins who are into anime :3 So definitely, just try asking - I know that I'd rather get gifts for people after they tell me what they want(within limits ofc), and not end up getting random stuff that I hope they like xD And if you're sure you'll be socially awkward, it's not gonna last the entire time! It'll probably gone faster than you think it will. Anyhow, best of luck to you both :3

Yeah, I ended up telling my aunt and she signed up for the billing registration, she also asked me if somebody else is coming and I said yeah she she just bought two tickets for my christmas (and probably) birthday gift ^^;

I appreciate everyone's suggestions, but, I've already stated this: I'm doing this alone. No gift money, no borrowed money, no nothing. I'm the only one in my family who's into anime and stuff. And, the only way I can send money independently is by money order. If you guys haven't tried that before, let me tell you now, the handling charges + the HST for BOTH the convention money AND the money order service? No way.

Don't give the "pay your parents back" suggestion either for Paypal and stuff, because I did that last year. They wouldn't let me pay them back, and that's the whole reason why I'm going independent this year.

It's not that I'm broke. I have the money, and if I save up smart, I can probably pay for it. However, to me, having to pay more that $45 JUST to go to a 3-day anime convention is hard on me. I also have other plans for the summer as well.

Everybody, have fun. I was hoping to obtain a guest pass by doing an event or something, but I guess not. (High hopes, much? lool) Good luck to Jeremy and the judges on picking a winner this year~ It's going to be much harder than C&E Idol! >w<///

I know how you feel about the whole parents-won't-let-you-pay them back thing. =__=; I don't know about your parents, but mine mercilessly tease me about the future, especially about their retirement. I've long since given up on paying them back on anything they offered and paid for just because, they, uh, pick on me =.=; "Don't forget to send up moneh for our living expenses when we retire<3", "Oh, and fund our trip to ____ too!" Make me guilty... til they tease me about it T-T Love them for everything, though.

But I hope you have fun with the other things that you'll be doing in the summer. If anything changes, remember... AR in Vancouver ;D Well, you can still mingle and lurk on the forums, and your spirit will be with us, even if you can't make it =D

Things are a bit different with Korean families. My parents just furiously shake their heads and push back any money I try to give them before shooing me out of the room.... with the money still in my hands. OTL
