Have you tried Volunteering though? I don't think you would need to pay to go to the convention if you're volunteering, and Jeremy said that volunteers can join in as well...

I'm looking forward to hearing other's sing. I have tried to sing one of my favourite songs in Japanese before but kept mispronouncing words that and my singing voice is awful. SO I wish luck to all those who are going to enter.

Hey everyone!

Okay, I've made a change to the rules for a couple of reasons, but you can read about that here:

The only real change is there are no longer Online auditions. We are going to welcome anyone to audition for Idol at the Live Auditions, which will likely take place Thursday August 16th at the pre-reg pass pick up at the Vancouver Convention and Exhibition Centre.

There are a few reasons for this change, one being that there hasn't been a lot of entries as of yet, and I can't help but wonder if it's because people may not have access to recording equipment among other things...

Please read the updated rules thoroughly before entering. Remember, the live auditions are in front of the judges and an audience, AND they are a capella, meaning NO MUSICAL BACKING! Just you and your voice for 2 minutes!

Glad you're joining in! Details from the first post:

You can 'show up' and sign up at the convention on the Thursday for a spot to audition, but it would be preferred that you sign up early via a simple e-mail to me with the following information:

*Your Full Name
*If you have a 'stage name' you'd like to be introduced as, please let me know
*Your Age
*City You are From
*Name of Song you will be singing for us
*Name of the Artist who originally performed the song
*If there is a tie in of some sort to an anime series/movie/game, etc, please let me know.
*The names of the 3 songs, their artists and tie ins, you would like to perform for the duration of the contest, should you make it past the auditions. You can use your audition song in one of the rounds of Idol if you would like to.
