Thats a great idea Semi, only issue is we don't know how many other functions we might have so time and space may be an issue, since building and painting a Gundam takes at least four to eight hours.
they had the gundam building contest in previous years of AE as well. the models were provided free of charge on a first come first serve basis or w/ a raffle that they sign up for at the beginning of the event. these select people then stay the entire alotted time completing their models which r judged at the end. it's a great event that introduces novices to gundam building and was usually held once on friday and once on saturday of the 3 day con to give more people the chance to participate. the cost of the models were covered by the badge fees at AE but I don't think people would mind if $5 was charged at the event since u now have sponsors. u would need to limit the number of people doing it during the con (depending on space and materials) but it would be nice for those interested in the event but were not selected, if models could be sold to be taken home for cheaper ($15?) either at the event or by referring to the sponsor vendor.
Thank you once again Weststar87 for your input. I agree with you and would like to have people interested to be able to purchase a model kit with a reduced price. Either myself or the sponsor team will contact the sponsor and arrange a compromise.
