Chun Li Costume Help

I'm planning on going as Chun Li to the convention, however, I'm having trouble deciding which is the best route to go about attaching the gold design onto the dress.... Anyone have any ideas? Or has anyone gone as Chun li before and has first time experience with this?? Thanks!!

It looks like most people have sewn it on... trim... blarg... But you -might- be able to use gold fabric paint or something, if you can make it look really clean(it's hard).

I had an idea, I guess I should test it out before I... you know... regret the idea... haha

But, rather than trim (Because making trim follow a pattern without folding or creasing.. or... cutting - is very hard), I would buy gold fabric, and draw the design on it and cut it out.... from there, on the "Wrong" side of the fabric I would put the glue stuff (looks like tape, but not) and attach it to the Blue fabric - using an iron to adhere everything together?

Has anyone tried this..... Did it work? Did it not work??
