I don't know much about her, but she emailed me (or perhaps it was her manager) asking to be a guest DJ at our convention's-eve dance for Tsukino-Con this year. Unfortunately, as we're already having the Slants as guest performers during regular convention hours, we did not have enough financial resources to accommodate her this year.

On a side note, if you're also accepting guest DJs, I'd recommend either M-Project or S3RL (or both).

Also, who's planning this thing, anyway? I still haven't heard anything about that and I don't know who to throw demos at.

Hey DJ yukkuri, you can send the demo to Candolf, spyd22 or myself.

Done, Done, or Done.

My SoundCloud is technically "Empty" because I currently can't afford to upgrade past the free space limit, but I've got a mix on there set to private that I'll make public after Tsukino-Con is over. Other than that, http://www.djyukkuri.com/ for more info.

hey guys, i am a DJ based in calgary( otafest) and i have been looking into getting into conventions lately, but not as a heavy techno, or rave, or anime remix DJ, im the stay true to the originals of anime music and have some remixes of popular english music inbetween, so everyone can enjoy.

i just dont like the shows were random people that know nothing of anime show up just for a rave dj and everyone that came for the con and an anime dance leaves due too it being not an anime dance, you want to go to a rave, go to a club, you get alcohal thier.

ive seen other cons have issues with that although people did pay addmission, just for the dance, but thats not the point, the point is you want someone thats as passionate about anime music, playing the music, as the people coming to enjoy it.

but thats just how i feel, if i hear dance at a anime con i would look into it, if i hear rave at anime con, i ignore it entirerly

but i will be contacting the con to see if it is possible to dj for them

I Have to say this!!! Drink plenty of water at the Dance, party, whatever it is called.

A suggestion I have is to do what they did at the last VCEC convention, and have those containers for water. I am pretty sure there is fountains to drink from but those can have long lines. it'd be an added expenditure but it'd be for the greater good.

At the dance in 2010 there was vending machines and water and such being sold which is a wonderful idea too.

I am just stating this cause in 2010 during the dance my friend was drastically ill and had to have paramedics check her out. And it was all due to dehydration. It was here own fault, cause there was water and such provided, but as a precaution to this you could perhaps provide water or water bottles.( you could sell the water bottles making a profit and help the cause)

Just looking out for the health and well being of everyone.

Hey Everyone,

As the Team Leader of the Anime Evolution 2012 Attendee Services team. I am over viewing the Safety and Security of the Con. I would want everyone to have a safe, responsible and fun time. This is what this is all about, having fun! :D

With that being said, I agree a dance/ party would be good idea, it has been a big success at other conventions and draws a lot of people in.

With that being said: The Anime Revolution Attendee Services Team will be out in full force if this happens. We will be roaming and be over watching in this party and we don't want people to ruin it for the rest. First off, obviously I would recommend this being an 18+ event only. This is family friendly but it would depend on where it would be and how many people you have as with minors it could get tough to manage. I am just recommending this from my experiences with security, or convention raves, parties, etc.

I would have to say we would need to lay down some solid ground rules, but in the past we have had issues with people drinking or bringing in narcotics, throwing glow sticks at each other or fighting with their cosplays or costumes or the big one..."mosh" pits. Also....in the past people ...well... there was issues of people doing things that were...well...inappropriate if you catch my drift.

I will bring this up and I would like to see where this goes if this happens, lets make sure people have a safe and fun time!

Regards,

The "Sgt."

"Sergeant"
(ASTC)Attendee Services Team Commander
