Hatsune Miku Concert

Discussion about, promotion for, and general discussion of events

Postby Momimochi » Sun Nov 13, 2011 9:43 am

It's not a hologram. In Japan, they actually had a thick, double-sided screen made of glass that projected the image of the Vocaloids inbetween the screens, making it seem like a very much, realistic and 3D hologram. The ones in America were just pretty much from a huge black screen. If you look at the videos carefully, I'm sure it's visible. Well, for the American ones, anyhow.

On topic:
MEXICO HAD A VOCA-CONCERT. AND WE DIDNT. What is this fallacey.

But if we ever do, I'd like to hear some new songs instead of those old songs. I'm sure people would be delighted to hear some Nem creations, Kagerou days, Envy Cat Walk, Datte Datte Datte,Senbonzakura, etc.

I was watching a youtube video of the a Japanese concert. Thanks for the clarification, maybe I should have said 'hologram-ish'? Well, I didn't really look into how it worked u.u Just that it looked really cool xD

It's okay. I was fooled at the concert in Japan too, despite personally being there. I actually thought it was a real hologram until logic came crashing down on me that there was technically nowhere the projection could be made. The top were all stage lighting so the projection wouldn't be as clear and solid if it were to have come from there. There were WAAAYYY too many people to have the projection coming from the sides and there were no rays of light coming from the bottom.

And then my friend decided to buy the DVD copy of the concert. I watched it and I noticed that glare during certain angles.
.... Those tricky Japanese....

The projectors have always been directly behind the singer at each performance.

If you look up the ones in Mexico and that other one in American (LA? Cali?), at angles, the characters gets somewhat flat and deranged. (actually, the one in Mexico was pretty obvious that it was directly projected onto a black theater screen)

But yeah, the one from Japan was probably projected from the back onto that glass screen thing.

I think a Miku concert would be a neat event to attend, based on what I've seen from viewing several YouTube videos. The technology is still fairly new, but continues to get better, and the type of concert makes it rather unique. How many concerts are there where the lead singer is a virtual construct? Might be a bit of a challenge to pull off, though.
