Cosplay Dance Pieces

Discussion about, promotion for, and general discussion of events

Postby CirqueCosplay17 » Wed Mar 21, 2012 3:03 pm

Hey guys!!! CC17 here: so you know how I wanted to do a Cosplay parade? I decided that for logistic reasons ( too much work as well as potential safety hazards) so instead: as a lead up to the cosplay contest I get together a small group of people and we do a five minute or so song and dance piece, I'm thinking maybe two to four of these as well as a routine during the contests intermission or judges evaluation period.

What I need from you guys is not only your willingness to participate but also some help deciding music and choreography. Also if you have a boom box on hand that's awesome as well!

I will post choreography on here ASAP but not until we have decided music.

Some guidelines: please do not have a costume that will limit movement or will take up too much space. Please remember that I am NOT responsible for damages done to what you will be wearing.

I look forward to working with you guys soon!
Be it the toss of a saber, the catch of a rifle, the blockage of colour from the flags during the final feature, or the graceful dancing through out the show, this is what makes the sport of the arts my anti-drug.

At the risk of offending: You just described a common cosplay contest entry. I think a better use of an intermission would be something that breaks up the monotony. It wouldn't make much sense for the Superbowl half-time show to be a game of football.

Pretty much what twtmc said.

Also, instead of choreographing the dances yourself, why don't you guys just pick a well known already choreographed dance (Hare Hare Yukai [so over played but still an example], Happy Synthesizer, Only My Railgun, Bad Apple, Spring Shower, PONPONPON, etc)? It'll be a lot more interesting to the audience that way... Especially because some of them probably already have seen, or know the dances.

For a small group, the Lucky Star cheer leading choreography may be a good choice. Plus, it's a simple dance.
