As I understand it, the way Anime Expo seem to do it is that if there's less people in the video room, they would do subbed, when there's a full pack of people, they seem to go with dub (probably for the reason that alot of people on the back will have a hard time reading the subtitles as it is 1 - too far away, subtitles become too small to read, 2 - people sitting in the front will block the subtitles (specially the tall guys).

I think we can adopt the same approach unless the anime being played doesn't have dub at all.

So... It'll be something like if we're using a 55" TV then it would be 20+ people Dub, less than 20 people sub?

That brings up something interesting...should we have more dubs than subs?

Why not 50/50.

I would say prepare both dubs and subs for each anime, and then as was said above, depending on the number attending, switch them up unless the dubs are incredibly bad or some other unforeseen reason such as mobs and pitchforks.

Huh. But then we'd be getting some pretty old animes and/or bad dubs.
I honestly think it's better if there's just a separate, completely unrelated box of dubbed anime and box of subbed anime.
For example the Subbed box could have: Hanasaku Iroha, Eden of the East, Bleach the 4th movie, Shigurui
And the Dubbed box would have: Fruits Baskets, Ouran High School Host Club, Soul Eater, Full Metal Alchemist (the dub was pretty satisfying, imho)

I am not sure if that's really all that necessary since most of the DVD/BD discs in North America comes with sub and dub, all you have to do is select the audio in the menu before you start playing (most players allows changing audio while playing too).

Well, there were some pretty nasty dubs I've heard in the past... And definitely won't mind never hearing them again...

I would think that "Black★Rock Shooter" would be a nice addition to the line-up as it is only one OVA with a duration of 52 minutes. Not to mention that the TV series has just been green-lit for January 2012 and it is already widely recognized due to its popularity.

...... It's been green-lit? Seriously?
Guess it's only the people that I know that complained about how ridiculously boring it was. And that it had nothing to do with the song. .__.

A always great and safe choice is anything from Production I.G. (Ghost in the Shell S.A.C)or Bones(soul Eater).
