Otome Games

I'm gonna bring up this subject since recently I've gotten really into these visual novel/simulator games.

Right now, I'm currently playing Hatoful Boyfriend, the game where you can date pigeons! The storyline is amazingly intense for a game that takes stock photographs of birds as the images for the datable characters, and the game demo is free to download on the company's site! I enjoyed the demo so much that I ended up buying the game, haha. ^^

Secondly, if BL games count, since they're targeted at females, I'm finally playing LangMoar's Absolute Obedience on PC! I love Yura's CG art and if I could, I would try to play every game she worked on, including Miracle No-Ton, Lucky Dog1, Otomeki Love Revo, and Real Rode.

I wish my understanding of Japanese was a lot better so I could understand and enjoy these games more fully, as there are so many good games out there to play but are only available in Japanese or do not have an English patch...

I played my first otome game last yr in Sept..I can't say that I was impressed lol. But I did play it cus it was in English and I like the art xD (I played Starry Sky in Spring). It was typical...actually SO typical lol. But yeah...Kazuaki! I have her artbook...

I like Nitro+Chiral lol the guys are good looking....(LOL I have Chayamachi Chiral Works too :>)
I haven't actually played any N+C games though...waiting for eng translation D:
I actually have Lucky Dog too LOL but like the rest of those games...never touched. yet.

I saw the Hatoful boyfriend thread by Momi though...looks hilarious. If you all liked it that much I might as well try it out xD

... Otome-ge (referring to title)? You sure that's the only thing?
Because if I've got my homo-ge down, over half the things that was mention here are homo-ge. (And I own them all so I'm pretty sure)

Well, Otome-ge is when it's reverse harem and the protagonist is a female.
Homo-ge is when everyone in that game's the same gender and that the other gender in the game doesn't count for any of the relationships in the game.

Totally different categories. They would NEVER sell those in the same stall in Japan. I remember visiting Otome road and finding this sale of Homo-ge and there was a whole line of over 100 people there.

In short, no, Homo-ge will never be a part of Otome-ge.

I have a much larger stash of VNs like Chaos;Head, Steins;Gate, waiting on my order of the Guilty Crown Lost Christmas, TYPE-MOON stuff, Lux-Pain (Oh God. DO NOT play this one. Worst game ever), Corpse Party (planning to pre-order 2, coming out this summer), the ones that don't revolve as much around relations. But my biggest stash is my ero-ge collection, followed by my homo-ge collection. Yup. I've got everything Nitro+Chiral, Tennenouji, LangMoar, along with that one Nitro+ ero-ge thus far. Lamento ~Beyond the Void~ was the best homo-ge thus far.

ALSO, ABSOLUTE OBEDIENCE HAS 97+2 ENDINGS OR SOMETHING. IT TOOK ME AROUND A WEEK OR SO TO COMPLETE AND UNLOCK THEM ALL. GOOD LUCK. Also, getting A's and D's on that game is HARD. Unless if you use Walkthroughs in which I never encourage using because it's just a complete turn-off for the game.

Er, I'm referring to them as 'otome games' as games that are targetted towards female audiences... I should've have left out the BL games then...

I already watched the playthrough for Absolute Obedience, but the uploader never uploaded the secret endings, which I wanted to see, so I'm playing the game for myself to be able to watch the secret 2 endings or Louise and Kia.

Oh, Otome games (in general) are literally known as Otome-ge in Japan. Homo-ge just isn't a part of it, whether if it's Yuri or Yaoi. They have this own little universe to themselves. That, and because you wouldn't really see GL games in ero-ge and whatnot. Then again, Japan has a knack for being weird. Translated version is here.

Yeah, I think you need to actually play the WHOLE GAME getting A's for all the endings first or something. That, or maybe getting all A's was to unlock the D endings. I don't know. Haven't played it for a while.

'Sides playing random ones that I don't remember, I played a chinese(?) Saint Seiya one. It was so pretty... I clicked around just to unlock the CGs lol.
