I'm sorry if I offend anyone, but I'm terribly worried about this (like, literally crying). I get harassed enough on the internet by bronies, and I was hoping that this convention would be a nice place to get away from it for a few days.
I mean, there's nothing wrong with liking the show, I don't care if anyone likes or dislikes it. Feel free to enjoy it in your own privacy and with groups who enjoy it with you.
What bothers me is how obsessive some people are about it, to the point of bringing it up constantly in places it doesn't belong, and essentially ruining the experiences for people who don't have an interest in the fad. It's like being followed around by Jehovah's witnesses; you're trying to force everyone to conform to your lifestyle and opinions, or at least that's how it feels. If you're a brony who isn't like that, then this isn't directed at you, and I apologize for the generalization.
You're getting a Brony Panel. That seems like the perfect place to fulfill all your desires together while at the same time leaving everyone out of it who doesn't want to be involved. Show me that you have enough self-control to keep the obsessiveness there, please. Yes, I am begging you. With sugar and cherries and other tasty things. Cupcakes, even.
I'm not trying to start a hateful debate here, so sorry if it comes off that way. I'm also not trying to tell you to completely forget about what you like while you're at the convention. Just keep it at a sane level, like "American Cartoon fan at an Anime convention" sane. Have fun, but let everyone else have fun, too! Does that seem reasonable?
Maybe I'm being overly cautious, maybe you're all nice enough that I don't have anything to worry about anyways. Still, I had a knot in my stomach and I needed to get this off my chest. Thanks.
