Changes to Staff/Volunteer Registration Page

Do you want to staff/volunteer? Here's some information for you.

I just noticed that on AR's staff/volunteer registration page there is an "experience" spot for filling out any previous experience, which wasn't there yesterday when I submited mine, should I fill a new one out and submit again?

PS: What if I never had any previous experience with anime convention? Does it mean I would be less likely to be selected?

Hi Semi and thank you for registering!!! The experience part is for any volunteering experiences, management experience, handy trades or knowledge and customer service experiences. This is important to us because of many reasons:

1. we need to set a chain of command, and to do that we need to see if you are capable and willing to be a team leader.
2. If need be ask you to change task that is not selected on your preference since you have experience or knowledge we need in another task.
3. Determine what training is needed to do your task.

A chain of command is vary important. With a convention this size, the management team cannot be all places at once. Therefore we need people who can take charge to determine the severity of the issue to either contact management or minimize and fix it. A person with experience will know what they are doing, and is much better at teaching and coordinating others to do what they need to do. In the end we are here to have fun but remember people pay to get into this event, therefore they are our guests and we need to treat them like one. Hence whither you have prior experience in customer service or not, we will teach you what we expect.

No prior experience :) ? Don't worry this is a good thing, because you will not have any bad habits and we can train and teach you many things. As for not being selected because of experience is highly no unless you are a vary gloomy person who is trying to do harm to people around you. I've been in the hospitality industry for over 5 years in three different properties from up scale 4 diamond hotels to 2 diamond. My positions vary from front of the house to back, but mainly my experience is in Banquets/conventions. I also got my diploma in Hospitality management =).

And can my friend submit his form too so that we can both be staff workers?

sure just fill out the staff form and send a e-mail to Candolf at candolf@animerevolution.ca and tell him about what happened, so he can delete the other entry. Thank you for your support and help! I look forward to co-operating with you.

*sighs* I'd will try to e-mail him. I'd tryed to e-mail him using my labtop once but the stupid mail didn't go through.   Hope it will get to him this time! ^_^
OH....BTW...Can Me and my friend be Staff Members too? We are kinda new at this sorta thing. So is there any ways we can both become Staff and help out? ;)

I'm sure my friend would love to help out too. Maybe I'll ask him if its okay to get his permission first.

All help is welcome =). If you are afraid or concerned because you do not have the experience or knowledge, we are happy to train and provide you with the knowledge you need to perform what you want to do. This will be an amazing learning and fun experience for all who participate. Not to mention a great networking tool. If you cannot get a hold of Can please feel free to contact me at Ken@animerevolution.ca and I will forward your concerns to Can personally. Thank you once again for offering a helping hand to making this event possible =]
