2b.Forbidden Weapon Materials (With Exceptions)
- Glass
- Ceramics
- Metal - On a case-by-case basis. For example a metal handle may be generally accepted but a metal sword will not be.

For my brs(male) cosplay i was planning on wrapping 5' worth of metal chain (https://www.macbuildingproducts.com/images/08CHAINBLACK.gif) to each of my hands would that be allowed or no? and i must get plastic ones?

also if i have removed the orange part for the gun but i have stuff the end with a marble would that make it invalid? and that im not allowed to use it?

Aha just double checking before i go any further LOL

no to all of this, wrapping chains around your hands regardless of what the material is, is essentially brass knuckles which are illegal, the gun with the marble is a no because, it does not have a proper barrel blocking device, you have removed a safety feature, and the marble has a chance of being shot out (small chance i know but still a chance). Also marbles are made of glass. sorry if this damages your cosplay idea.

if you remove the marbles and use a proper barrel blocking device the gun will be allowed, (aka a paintball barrel sock). The chains im sorry would be a no, they can hang from your person, but can not be wrapped around your hands.

My friend's not really sure where you guys stand on this but how do you guys feel about people bringing wooden swords into the convention?

I have no issues with wooden swords being brought to the convention. As long as it follows the basic guidelines of the Weapons, Props, and Items. I.E. is not deemed to be unsafe for the convention.

Although we will not allow real sword fights. For example if you and another attendee are posing with your swords clashed for a photo thats fine. But a big drawn out Pirates of the Carribean Sword duel wouldn't be allowed. (Even though it may be entertaining.)

The only exception to that is if it was an approved event like the A.F.T. Foam Sword Tournament.

See Here ---> viewtopic.php?f=17&t=390

If you still have questions, comments or concerns, send a picture and i can take a look at it.

What should I do if I lost the orange tip to my toy gun? =/ Is it possible to just get it checked and peace bonded? It can't fire anything, that's for sure.

Thanks for posting these guidelines! I read through the 10 pages and I think everything makes sense. There have been incidents at other conventions that happened precisely because of metal blades, strung bows, shattered glass props, and others.

Make sure that the sword vendors make it clear to customers that they cannot unsheathe their purchases at the convention!

I apologize for the late reply as I've been very busy! sorry!

@Kanra: The first thing I have to ask is; what type of toy gun? Nerf? Cap gun? etc.

My next question would be; Can you prove to us that it cant fire and that it doesnt replicate a real firearm? I say this because it guns or props like this will be dealt with on a case to case basis. It sounds strict but wont be as much as some think. We have to see it first before we make a determination. In saying that can you send me or post a quality picture of your toy gun so I can take a look at it and advise you better? Thank you :D
