Do you have a soundcloud or youtube or anything of that variety? I think I found your youtube and so far the originals on there are definitely showing promise.

Hello again! Yes I do have a soundcloud ( http://soundcloud.com/donjuankenobi ) The demo I wanted to submit is called 2012;AChipTuneOdyssey . Its a hyper-bouncy styled demo I recently made when I submitted it to Mune. It has SNES remixes such as Zelda, Street Fighter. For Sega, Sonic The Hedgehog, and then Tetris and even pokemon! Ive made it my cup of tea to d.j remixes made from video games the crowd can identify with. Also, this styled of electronic music is called Happy Hardcore, similar to DDR remixes such as Candy, Cartoon Heroes etc. I have a good chunk of remixes I havent revealed that I would love to d.j for this anime dance event! Please feel free to comment if this is suitable or not! I have d.j ed before at Anime Evolution, though truth be told the dance floor was more empty due to the swim suit contest happening at the exact time I was d.jing! I wouldve gone to the swimsuit contest my self had I not been d.jing! Hopefully if Im considered, the time clash wont happen again! I love playing for a full dance floor. =D

Cheers

Yep, lots of great ideas- but restricting it to 18+ is NOT one of them.

First off, I've never been in a con that allows alcohol, and it's super easy to get people to line up at the door and check their water bottles, bags, badges, id whatever before they're allowed in. It may have to start a line a bit before the dance officially starts but that's the price to pay for safety. I'm sure more people would rather wait a short bit rather than not be able to go at all because they're 16, 17, or they're a few months short of being 18.

As for security, after the door check we've got the staff who are in charge of keeping a watch over the place. They can't be everywhere at once, but they'll be there. And it's pretty easy to spot anyone who's acting up. Don't forget the people who are there to enjoy themselves- someone usually has the sense to report to the staff.

Also, if it's a later time like 9 or 10, not gonna see a lot of kids there anyway, if at all.

just came back from anime expo and the lineup for the dance went on for hours. i thnk it was from 10pm - 2am and at any given time, there was about 150-200 ppl lining up (in a snake-form lineup). the dance floor was pretty small so it took a long time to get in. we got there at 10.30 and didn't get in until 1 but vancouver won't be that bad hopefully.

no alcohol. all bottles dumped at the door. free water inside! tonnes of rowdy ppl in the lineup but mostly in peaceful fun. security had to come across a few times to shut'em up (thanks).
they flew in a couple djs from japan which was awesome. also saw some pedos watching the gogo dancers at the front hahahaha
