What does everyone think about original art? Do you prefer Fanart or Originals?

Generally I prefer fanart. But I'm a sucker for good art. If I like the style of the art, I'd go for originals. I have a few originals. But the style or theme/character design would have to be something I'm interested in of course.

Here's the stationery I was talking about. So far I've got these, a few bookmarks/postcards and a pinup or two. I may do an original piece vs. all the fanart if I can pluck up the courage...;;;

Those deviantart prints. I want those. A lot of those. Mostly the prints, but yeah, mousepads, mugs, and others are good too.

This is coming from someone who just ordered tons of Yuumei prints, pins, and her 1000 words picturebook.

Wow! That stationary is better than I could imagine! I'm not a Kid Icarus person, but if I saw that stationary as a franchise I like, I'd buy it.
